The Body Shop Vitamin E review

I don't know what I've been doing the last few weeks, apart from watching Love Island, but I've somehow not had the time to write a new blog post. One thing I have been trying really hard to keep up with however is my skincare.  After swearing by the same brand for years, I realised that me and my skin needed a change...

So I thought I'd tell you a little bit of background about my face.  I'd describe my skin as combination-oily, naturally fair with the odd few freckles, prone to stress spots and a nasty blemish now and then (normally around my lady days), very dry under eyes and a lot of redness around my nose.

After using Clinique's 3-step throughout my late teens and early twenties, I'd been feeling stuck in a skincare rut for quite some time. I tried a couple of different brands; Neutrogena, Nivea (which I love!), until one day I popped in to The Body Shop having run out of my favourite Vitamin E moisturiser and thought "why not give this range a go?"  I've used the moisturiser for quite some time; a friend recommended it to me as a great travel moisturiser as it is fab at protecting your skin against the damaging effects of pollution (and I LOVE a city break).

I picked up the facial wash, the eye cream, the wipes and a new pot of the moisture cream.  I started using the face wash and 2 creams together every morning and instantly fell in love.  The face wash left my skin feeling so soft and clean and the eye cream made a significant difference to my under-eye area within the first week. I already knew I loved the moisturiser, but combined with the face wash, my skin was starting to look better after just a few days.  I love that the moisturiser really soaks into your skin, it makes it look and feel so fresh and nourished.  I then decided to purchase the cream cleanser, hydrating toner and hydrating face mist, as I was aware that I needed a better nighttime skincare routine than just using the wipes to take my makeup off.

My daily routine now consists of using the face wash, eye cream and face mist in the morning.  I find that my base makeup applies and lasts so much longer and my skin feels hydrated throughout the day.  In the evening, I start off by using the cream cleanser and removing it with cotton wool, followed by the toner and then the moisture cream.  If they feel like they need it, I will also apply the eye cream before I go to sleep.

One of the main reasons why I am obsessed with the Vitamin E range is it has really helped improve the appearance of any scars on my face, normally caused by blemishes and spots that I've picked at.  Since using it, I've noticed a significant improvement in the texture of my skin as well, most likely due to the Hyaluronic Acid that is in the majority of these products. Hyaluronic Acid is amazing for hydrating and plumping the skin and you will find it on the ingredients list of a lot of face creams.

I used to go out all the time with zero product on my face, but over the past year I had lost that confidence a little. Using The Body Shop's Vitamin E skincare range has slowly but surely given me that confidence back.

What's your go-to skincare routine?  I am hoping to give The Body Shop's masks a go soon! Comment your favourite products below, I'd love to hear from you!
