Penelope Pink and Pillow Talk

Christmas is coming around at a rapid rate, it is less than 3 weeks away and I for one, am not prepared in the slightest. Seeing my fellow bloggers partaking in Blogmas, I do not know how any of you are coping, but I admire you all for your talent, determination and enviable organisational skills.  Whilst I haven't had time to put together an extensive gift guide, I did want to tell you about a fab gift set that is perfect for any beauty lover...

As a blogger, receiving a PR package is always exciting, but when you receive one from one of your favourite beauty brands, you can't help but feel like a kid at Christmas.  When a parcel from Charlotte Tilbury landed on my doorstep, I couldn't wait to try the products.  Inside was her Beauty Icons Gift Set.  I love receiving gift sets for Christmas; it is a fab way to try out some new products without having to buy the full size version and they are also great for travel (I wish I could get all the hours I've spent dispensing toiletries in to 100ml bottles back!)

The Beauty Icons gift set features 5 of CT's bestselling products - Lip Cheat Liner in Pillow Talk, K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Penelope Pink, Full Fat Lashes Mascara, Charlotte's Magic Cream Moisturiser and Wonderglow Face Primer. Over the last few weeks since receiving this package, I have tried and tested each product and felt like now was the ideal time to write a review of each one!

Five products to try!

Lip Cheat Liner in Pillow Talk is my favourite nude lip liner ever; I already owned this so I have actually gifted the one from this set to one of my friends (spreading the festive cheer!). I love how universal this liner is, I pretty much use it with every lipstick as it very closely matches my natural lip colour and is perfect for making my lips look extra full before applying lipstick.  It applies so smoothly and I can see why this is a cult favourite among supermodels and the beauty industry.  Pair it with the Pillow Talk lipstick and you will have your new favourite nude lip combo!

I am a self-confessed nude lipstick hoarder, and the K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Penelope Pink is a gorgeous nude shade with subtle pink undertones.  It is very hydrating which is perfect for this time of year and I love the finish; it makes your lips look plump and glossy without being too heavy on the skin.  This shade is a paler beige nude, so if you prefer a darker tone on your lips, this may not be the right one for you, but I would recommend checking out the other colours in this range as the creamy formula is delightful and the packaging is truly stunning and will look beautiful on anyone's dressing table.

Full Fat Lashes Mascara

I have been keen to try the Full Fat Lashes Mascara for some time; I'd heard excellent things and had never picked one up but I am so glad a mini version was included in this set.  I enjoy using this as an everyday mascara, as I've found that it is perfect for adding length and volume without being too thick and seeing as I wear minimal make-up day-to-day, this really works well for me. The mascara is buildable, so if you are after a more dramatic look, you can achieve it with this but I prefer to use it for a more natural look.  The wand is excellent and is great at separating the lashes, perfect as making me look more awake on these dark Winter mornings!

Magic Cream

If I had to write a one word review for Charlotte's Magic Cream, it would be "magic". I cannot believe how great this moisturiser is. It is a much different formula to my usual moisturisers which are more gel and lotion consistencies; this is quite a thick cream, but once warmed by the skin and massaged in, it leaves my face feeling and looking so soft and rejuvenated, and I’ve found that my make-up lasts longer and looks more flawless! I love Vitamin E skincare, and seeing how youthful my complexion was after using the Magic Cream, I was not surprised to find Vit E on the ingredients list. The cream also contains hyaluronic acid, which my skin loves! I was worried that the product would be far too heavy on my skin and be a nuisance for my problem areas; pores, oily t-zone, but it is just a dream. The price tag has always made me hesitant to try this moisturiser, but after using this for nearly a month, it is definitely going to be my first purchase after my spending ban!

I love skincare, and I have a great routine for giving my cold weather affected skin that glow, but when I need that extra boost of radiance, Wonderglow is the first thing I am reaching for. I use this either under my foundation as a primer or on it’s own as it gives me a gorgeous dewy complexion.  It is so light on the skin and really illuminates my face, making me look healthier and more youthful.  I’ve always said how confident Charlotte Tilbury’s products make me feel, and the first time I wore this under my foundation, I received so many compliments about how fab my skin looked! I will most definitely be picking a full size tube up next time I’m in Covent Garden as I can’t imagine my make-up bag without this primer.
