My Favourite Fragrances | Beauty

Of all the beauty products that fill my IKEA Alex drawers, fragrance is one that always exudes luxury and elegance. When I was young, I dreamed of having a dressing table full of those little glass bottles; I'd wander through the fragrance department at my local John Lewis making a mental wishlist of all the perfume I was going to buy when I was an adult and had a job.  Even now, I always think of fragrance as an extra special treat to myself.  A lot like a good red lipstick or that million-dollar-feeling bra, a gorgeous perfume can put you in a certain mood, and every morning I look at the bottles on my dresser and think "who do I want to be today?"...

Even on the days when I don't want to wear a lot of product on my face, I always make sure to spritz a little perfume before I head out the door.  These are the 3 fragrances that I seem to be reaching for the most.

The Sophisticated One - Charlotte Tilbury Scent Of A Dream*

The best way to describe this perfume would be feminine and powerful.  The top notes of lemon, peach and black pepper are empowering without being too strong for a day time fragrance.  The floral heart notes are flirtatious and throughout the day, the perfume develops in to a sensual and seductive fragrance, using your body heat to activate the base notes.  It's the kind of perfume that makes people stop mid-sentence and ask what you are wearing, it's that captivating.  Charlotte promises that the scent will attract love, light, power, positivity and sex to the wearer. Whilst I cannot guarantee that men will fall at your feet when you wear this, you will have a damn good chance of feeling like the sexiest, most sophisticated woman, and confidence is one of the most attractive qualities in any person.  I wear this when I want to feel like I can take on the world.

The Rebellious One - Chanel Gabrielle

I love the simplicity of the design of the Gabrielle bottle, it isn't trying too hard to be something amazing but still manages to look so luxurious and inviting.  I also find the fragrance to have a delightful simplicity about it too; it is purely a floral scent with jasmine, ylang-ylang, orange blossom and grasse tuberose.  It doesn't have a lot of components, but is just heavenly on the skin and lasts all day.  Perfectly feminine yet ideal for those who are rebellious at heart, I wear this when I know I'm going to be going out, having a good time and falling in love for the night...

The Sweet One - Valentino Donna

I still remember first seeing the Valentino Donna bottle and just knowing that it was going to become a favourite.  The way the light hits the studded glass drew me in and after a quick spray on my wrist, I fell in love with the fragrance too.  Sweet and fruity, yet perfectly light, Donna is ideal for an everyday scent.  It is subtle but still has an impact and I receive so many compliments when I wear this.  It has been a staple in my make-up bag for the last couple of years, and I feel like my close family and friends now expect me to be wearing this, I guess it is sort of my signature scent. I wear this when I'm meeting a friend for a coffee catch-up or heading out to explore a new city.

Which fragrances are you loving at the moment? Have you tried any of these 3?

  6. Got to admit that I've not tried any of these. That Valentino bottle is beautiful though! And I find it interesting that there's black pepper in the Charlotte Tilbury one, I've not heard of that before! My favourites at the moment have to be Gucci Bloom and Kenzo World

  8. I haven't tried any of these, but I will be checking them out the next time im in the fragrance counter.
My favourite fragrance has to be Chloe, the perfume is just lovely and lasts all day, and the bottle looks very classic. I love it! I'm also enjoying the limited edition Marc Jacobs Daisy 'Twinkle' - it smells of palm of violets. Lovely!
Britney spears ones are also great for a cheaper priced fragrance, and they last most of the day too!
